Stamford is located at the intersection of New York State routes 10 and 23 in northern Delaware County.
We are on the northern edge of the Catskill Mountains and are overlooked by beautiful 3214 ft Mt Utsayantha.

These photos represent a walking tour of most of Stamford.

On the west side of Stamford and just off of NYS Rt 23 is Robinson Terrace Living Center. This vacility has122 private and semi-private beds. If you need long-term care you can’t do better.

Across the highway from Robinson Terrace is the lovely Rexmere Lake and the Cyr Center in the former Rexmere Hotel. Here is the little known memorial Commemorating the Young and Smith families who owned and operated the Rexmere from 1917-1955.

“The Rexmere” which houses the Cyr Center part of the ONC Boces system also housing MURAL art gallery. Drop in when you are in town.

The “Honeymoon Cottage” of the former Rexmere is now a private residence but kept in wonderful condition.

Moving closer to the intersection of NYS Rts 10 & 23 you find “Dr. Bob” Connelly, Your Family Vision Center.

In the former Red Carpet Motor Inn location is our new Rite Aid Pharmacy. Depending on who you ask it is either the “Best” or the “Worst” thing that has happened in recent years.

Across from Rite Aid and Stewart’s Shops is Hillhaven Farm Stand. From Spring planting through months of good veggies and farm products until Christmas tree time the Jacobson’s serve the community.

Stewart’s Shops dish up ice cream, milk, fuel and lots more at the intersection of NYS Rts 10 & 23.

Finishing out the commercial aspect of the intersection of 10 & 23 is the Amish Barn Company display. An asset to our community.

Just to the right (west/south) of the 10 & 23 intersection is Vasta’s Pizzeria and Miracle Lanes. Food and bowling all at one site. Worth the visit any time you are in town.

On every national holiday and some other special events Stamford dispalys the colors. Jim Kopp heads up a group who make sure it happens.

Stamford Greenhouses are off the Main drag and needs an off site sign.

County Wine and Liquor is on Harper St across from the Country Store.

Just past Country Wine and Liquor is George Marcus’ office.

In the former Mirror-Recorder building is SECO Physical Therapy.

The Country Store provides fuel and food.

Peachtree Cafe is located on West Main at Harper Street along with.....

The Ming Moon Chinese Restaurant and the Gallery.

Across the street is Pete Powell’s Budget Brand Gas. Full service.

Looking up River Street you see Stamford Central School.

Moving onto Main Street one finds Brick Oven Pizza and the Mountain Eagle office. Our local weekly newspaper.

Herring Park is a gift to the community given by CORE VALUES.

Our local supermarket the Grand Union. It is 20+ miles to the nearest competitor.

CORE VALUES Thrift Store and Workshop is a major contributor to the community. Over $300,000 has gone back to the churches and other needs in the area since its inception.

Stamford Home Video located next door to CORE VALUES on Main St.

Delaware County Real Estate and Vlahakis CPA offices are across from the Video store on the corner of Roosevelt Ave and Main St.

Across from the Real Estate office and beside the Grand Union is Stamford Village Apartments. This is affordable housing for senior citizens.

Next, along Main Street, is the former Stamford Pharmacy. A business opportunity awaiting an investor.

Across from the former pharmacy is the Verizon building. Our switchboard that allows many in the village to have DSL access.

The Stamford Village Library, Kiddie Corner Preschool, and Churchill Gym 

Macadoodle’s Ice Cream stand. Always a popular location on a hot day.

Across Main Street from the ice cream stand and NAPA Auto Parts is the historic First Presbyterian Church building.

NAPA Auto Parts at 113 Main Street. The former Mirtallo Service Station site (and Building 113) at the corner of Churchill Ave and Main Street.

The Post Office is located on Churchill Avenue behind NAPA and the SFD.

Stamford’s Finest train here and excellent equipment stands ready to respond to any emergency at any time.

Across from SFD is the former Baptist Church building now a private residence and very well kept. Thank you Peter and Bernadette!

Also located across from the SFD is Stamford United Methodist Church.

Beside the Methodist Church is the historic Village Hall. ( in the process of renovation)

In the former D & D Dinner (AKA Jelly Bellys) is located Coldwell Bankers, Robert E. Lawrence Real Estate.

Across from Village hall is the Dale-Licious Deli.

In the former Post Office location is now the Robinson-Broadhurst Foundation office. This organization is a real benefactor to this community.

Behind the Foundation office, on Churchill Avenue is the Stamford National Bank building.

Beside the Foundation office is Veteran’s Memorial Park. The following photos are of the park.

At the corner of Academy and Prospect streets The Belvedere Country Inn is one of the few old hotels in the Catskills and the oldest operating in Stamford.

Ace Hardware - Radio Shack is located on Railroad Ave across from Veteran’s Memorial Park.

Next door to Ace Hardware is TP’s Restaurant and Cafe.

The former Village Restaurant is now the location of Ameriprise Financial Services.

Across from Railroad Avenue on Main Street is The Stamford Performing Arts Center (former shoe store) and Catskill Mortgage in the former bank building.

Across from Catskill Mortgage is John’s Tavern.

In the former Ben Franklin building is located, Ladies in Motion (Gym) and Reynard Insurance.

Across from Reynard’s is located an excellent business opportunity in the former O’Connor Pharmacy.

in the parking lot across from Reynard’s is the CofC Information Booth.

Along side the Information Booth is a fully equipped Ice Cream store and Cafe awaiting an investor (right).

The former Ritz is being modernized as a fine restaurant.

Between Reynard’s and the former Ritz is another opportunity looking for an investor.

Past the former Ritz is Ye Olde Delaware Inn which is now expecting a new lease on life thanks to a contract with the Catskill Watershed Corporation.

In the medical building (former Victory Market) is located Mountain Martial Arts and the Body Shop Gym.

Across Beaver Steet is located Engelke Tire Company

Soon to open, Family Dollar Store on the former Coffee Cleaners property.

The Stamford Baptist Church is located at the edge of the village on Lake Street.

Located on South Street, Stamford Farmer’s Cooperative (Agway) provides many farm and family supplies including LP gas refill, shrubs and plants.

Across South Street from SFC is Indian Trail Park with playground, pool, basketball and handball courts as well as tennis courts across the street.

The office of the Catskill Revitalization Corporation that operates the walking trails and The Catskill Mountain Railroad at Arkville is located at the intersection of Railroad Avenue and South Street.

The Carwash is also located on Railroad Ave.

Many’s Small Engine Repair at the corner of Railroad and Buntline.

Also at Railroad and Buntline is the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Stamford Greenhouses, The Village Wastewater Plant and Eklund’s Farm Machinery finish out Railroad Ave.
